Creating & managing events
Member events are the primary way to record time away from full availability. Any member can create events for themselves; admins and team leads can create events for teammates.
Creating a member event
Section titled “Creating a member event”- Open the Timeline or click + New event.
- Select the member (yourself or a teammate).
- Choose an event type — Vacation, Training, On-call, etc.
- Set the date range — single day or multi-day.
- Optionally override the capacity modifier for this specific event.
- Save.
The event appears on the timeline and affects capacity from the event type’s default modifier unless you override it.
Choosing event types
Section titled “Choosing event types”Event types determine the modifier, color, and category. Pick the type that best matches the commitment:
- Vacation (Time Off, 0.0) — full day away
- Training (Training, 0.5) — partial availability
- On-call (Ops, 0.5) — reduced but present
If no type fits, ask an admin to create one. See Event categories & types.
Per-event modifier override
Section titled “Per-event modifier override”Override the type’s default modifier when this specific event differs — e.g., a half-day vacation (0.5) using the Vacation type (normally 0.0).
Overrides apply only to the individual event, not the type or category.
Editing and deleting
Section titled “Editing and deleting”- Edit — click an event on the timeline to change dates, type, or modifier.
- Delete — remove an event from the timeline. Capacity recalculates immediately.
Recurrence
Section titled “Recurrence”Create recurring events for repeating commitments (weekly on-call, monthly training):
- Edit series — changes apply to all future occurrences
- Edit single occurrence — changes apply to one instance only; the series continues
When choosing, consider whether the change is a one-off exception or a permanent schedule change.
Timezone note
Section titled “Timezone note”Temprix stores dates in the workspace timezone. Members in other timezones see events on the calendar date defined by the workspace — not their local midnight boundary. For distributed teams, align on the workspace timezone when logging multi-day events that span timezone boundaries.
